Food Bank Appeal

Have you eaten today?

The number of people on the Fylde Coast struggling to feed their families is rapidly on the rise.

Shockingly over 9,000 children in Blackpool live below the poverty line. Children have replaced pensioners as the most at-risk group.

Whilst we may assume that in the summer the children are on holiday and will be fed, this is often not the case. In the absence of free school meals the need actually increases driving people to use the Food Banks

This is the time that they need extra support.

There are many reasons why they see Food Banks as a vital service– including sudden family emergency, job loss or illness. Food Banks provides emergency food to people in crisis.

How can you help?

We’re asking for donations of non-perishable food at our collection points including Astute Motoring, Abingdon Street Market, Fylde Tiles, Sandcastle Care and Burtons Biscuits.

Drop off your non perishable food at our branded drop off donation bins. Make a difference and help kids eat over summer.

Quote from Hayley Kay

“I think people in Blackpool and the Fylde coast are very generous and kind in general. It still shocks me every time I hear the statistics: There are more than 9,000 children in Blackpool living below the poverty line.
Since I became a mum I think it’s something I feel is even more important. Next year, we hope to make it even bigger and perhaps create an event, with a choir or a band performing.”
