£160,000 cannabis factory found in Lytham flat

Monday, October 15th 2012 17:30

Police have discovered a cannabis factory with an estimated street value of around £160,000 has been found in a Lytham flat.

Neighbors told officers there was a strong smell coming from an empty property on Clifton Drive.

Police found between 300-400 cannabis plants being grown in paddling pools with the assistance of hydroponic equipment.

Sgt Lisa Griffin, neighbourhood policing, said: "This is quite a significant find and it has ultimately prevented a large amount of cannabis from making its way on to our streets.

"We need more people to come forward with information of criminal activity and we will act upon information received constructively.”

If you have information about suspected cannabis cultivation contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always dial 999.
