Thursday, August 9th 2012 01:00

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was seriously assaulted outside a Blackpool bar.

The assault took place at 1.20am on Saturday 4th August when the 19 year old victim has been involved in an altercation with a man outside the Lifeboat Inn pub in Blackpool.

The victim has been punched in the face before falling to the floor where he was kicked in the head. The offender has then walked away from the scene.

The victim suffered cuts, grazes and bruising to face and also lost several teeth.

DC Matthew Haylett from Blackpool CID said: "This incident happened outside a busy pub on a main road so I would appeal to anybody that witnessed it to come forward.

"In particular there were a number of occupants in a blue Volkswagen golf and a lone woman outside the pub at the time of the incident that could be key witnesses so I would urge these people to contact the police as soon as possible.

Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
