Fleetwood drug dealer is jailed

Sunday, July 29th 2012 01:00

A FLEETWOOD drug dealer who was caught trying to sell powerful Class A drugs was today sentenced to more than two years in jail.

Mark Ashworth, 26, of No Fixed Abode, was imprisoned for two years and four months at Preston Crown Court after previously pleading guilty to supplying heroine and amphetamines.

Ashworth was arrested in May after being caught by police selling both drugs to a buyer on three separate occasions in late 2011.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Wright, of Wyre CID, said: "Ashworth was funding his lifestyle through the selling of illegal drugs which are capable of causing serious damage.

"His jailing was wholeheartedly appropriate and sends a message that we will not accept the actions of drug pushers in Wyre.”
