Hopes high for Lytham T20 event

Thursday, June 21st 2012 01:00

SIX-year-olds Dotty Hackett and Olivia Holderness will be among youngsters enjoying the excitement at Lytham Cricket & Sports Club's charity T20 and family fun day on Sunday 1st July 2012.

Organisers are keeping their fingers crossed for good weather as the finishing touches to the event get underway to raise money for the Soldiers' Charity and the RNLI.

Guest teams from the 2nd Battalion of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (2 LANCS) currently stationed at Weeton Barracks and Blackpool Cricket Club will be playing in coloured clothing and a white ball.

The day will be packed with entertainment including a marching pipe band, children's games, tombola, a ‘beat the goalie' competition as well as displays from the Fire Brigade, the RNLI and the Kings Division Recruiting Team.

Last year Lytham Cricket & Sports Club hosted its very first T20 (twenty20) cricket tournament attracting hundreds of spectators and visitors
