Police bosses in Blackpool are to have a word with an officer seen on TV applying lip gloss whilst driving a patrol car in town.
The scene on the Channel 4 programme has sparked criticism from members of the public who claim its unfair whilst they're getting points and fines for using phones at the wheel.
Whilst using a mobile is illegal.....applying make up isn't....but all the same, a police spokesman said the officer involved would face management action.
In a statement to Radio Wave, the police say
"Lancashire Constabulary expect all our officers and staff to uphold the law and the standards which we strive for in our day to day duties. On this occasion, whether it was a momentary lapse of judgement or not, the officer fell below these expectations and will receive management action.
"Whilst we are disappointed in what we saw last night, this should be viewed in the context of the very positive and brave work our police officers undertake every day, in difficult circumstances. The majority do their job with good humour and professionalism and the positive comments and feedback far outweigh the negative ones we have received.”
