A twenty three years old man has today admitted the murder of another male who was attacked at a flat in St Annes.
Jason Brookes is said by the prosecution to have delivered considerable blows to the head and rest of the body of Andrew Boardman.
The defendant, of Elizabeth Court, today pleaded guilty to murdering Mr Boardman on June 30th this year. He died following an incident at a flat on Glen Eldon Road, St Annes.
The case has been adjourned for sentencing, due to take place on November 19th.
Miss Louise Blackwell QC, prosecuting, said that a witness spoke of there having been a tussle between the two men, which was short lived. A relatively short time after that, Mr Boardman is said to have been unconscious.
Defence QC, Mr David Fish, said the plea to murder was entered on the basis that Brookes did not intend to kill. There had been a scuffle between the two men and once he had overpowered Mr Boardman, he went on to commit the offence.
Brookes was further remanded in custody by Judge Stuart Baker.
