Man appears on St Annes murder charge

A man has made his first court appearance charged with the murder of a father-of-two.

 

Unemployed Jason Corey Brookes was remanded in custody by Blackpool Magistrates and he will next appear before Preston Crown Court on Friday.

Brookes,22,of Elizabeth Court,Layton,Blackpool is charged with murdering professional baker Andrew Edward Boardman at a flat on Glen Eldon Road,Lytham St Annes on Saturday June 30.

Mr Boardman (53) was found unconscious at the flat after suffering multiple head and body wounds.

He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but died of his injuries.

Recently divorced Mr Boardman has two daughters Zoe and Sarah.He spent much of his life in the Lytham area of the town and only recently moved to St Annes.
