Police appeal following assault on teenager in Blackpool

Monday, October 15th 2012 13:00

Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an assault on an 18 year old man in a pub in Blackpool.

The attack took place in Yates Wine Lodge on the promenade on Friday 10th August 2012 just before midnight.

The victim was making his way to the bar when he was struck on the side of the head, causing a serious and deep laceration to the side of his face and leaving him badly scarred.

The offenders and their group have then fled the bar.

It is thought that the people police want to speak to are were in Blackpool on a stag do and are from the Torquay area.

Detective Constable Stuart Reid from Blackpool CID said, "I would appeal to anyone who was in Yates that night and recalls the incident to contact the police as they may have information that could assist us.

"I am also keen to trace the two men who we have released pictures of. If you know these men then please come forward and tell us who they are.

"This is a nasty assault on an innocent man and the people responsible need to be caught and brought to justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Blackpool police on 01253 293933.
