Police search for Blackpool boy's attacker in Cleveleys

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to question in connection with an assault on a 16 year old boy in Cleveleys.

It happened at around 2.40pm on Wednesday 18th July on Victoria Road West when a man has approached the boy as he was crossing the street and shouted abuse at him.

The victim shouted back at him and the man then head-butted the boy causing him a minor injury to his mouth.

The boy sought help at a local shop but despite a police search of the area he was not found.

It is believed the offender escaped in a black taxi and police need the driver of the taxi, or anyone with any information about the identity of this man to come forward.

The offender is described as being aged in his early 60s with grey receding hair and was wearing a black clothes.

PC Catherine Britton said: "This was an unprovoked assault on a young boy. Anyone with any information about the man responsible should call Lancashire Police on 101 quoting crime reference BC1202965.”
