Officers want to speak to these 2 men caught on CCTV

Police appeal for information

Police are appealing for information after two students were robbed in Blackpool.

The incident happened on Saturday 7th October at around 11:45pm on Central Drive close to Ribble Road.

The two victims were approached by two men close to the George Pub. The offenders have started talking to them and forced them up an alleyway on Ribble Road before demanding that they both empty their pockets and assaulting them.

A blackberry mobile phone and £30 in cash was stolen.

The first attacker is described as white, approximately 6 foot tall with a stocky build and very short fair hair. He has a northern accent and was wearing a light grey or white fleece which may have had a square pattern on it.

The second man is described as being white, 5’10 -11 inches tall with short Brown hair and has a slim build. He also had a northern accent and was wearing a light brown hooded top and jeans.

Detective Sergeant Simon Pritchard from Blackpool CID said, "I would appeal to anyone who recognises these two men to come forward and contact the police.

"This is a nasty unprovoked attack on two innocent men who were simply going about their business and the two people responsible need to be caught and dealt with.

Anyone with information is asked to call Blackpool Police on 101.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
