Recent Highlights

Radio Wave continues to be the first choice for the residents of the Fylde Coast for it's local news, in recent times we've broken the news of the Yates's blaze in Blackpool Town Centre, the Riverdance ferry running aground of the coast of Cleveleys and the homecoming of soldiers from Irag and Afganistan. In January 2010, Radio Wave service proved invaluable once again when heavy snowfall closed schools across Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde.

Crime and disorder in Blackpool continue to dominate Radio Wave's agenda. The Police rely on Radio Wave to get descriptions out quickly in a town known for its population transience.

In programmes we have broadcast along the promenade to cover big events in the town such as the Blackpool 10K Fun Run, Blackpool Marathons and the opening of the Hounds Hill Shopping Centre.

Radio Wave supports local sports, the station broadcast live from the new Wembley Stadium and provided full match commentary for Blackpool's victory over Yeovil for the League 1 Play off Championships

We hold a number of community events throughout the year including the Heroes In The Community Awards celebrating the Fylde Coast's unsung heroes, the Culture and Lifestyle Awards championing our local area and Radio Wave are proud to a sponsor of the Grand Theatre, Blackpool.
