Fylde's Next Top Stylist Terms

Terms & Conditions for the competition

·Age Limits are 16 – 18 years of age.

·Applicants must send in a photograph of a person’s hair they have styled and one of themselves, with a brief outline of their contact details and a paragraph why they think they should be "The Fylde’s Next Top Stylist”.

·Must be available to start the competition and meet all date requirements.

·The winner must be available to start with the company and fulfil all job requirements for the three month probationary period , with an option to continue if suitable to employer and self.

·All hair work must be the contestants own work.

·Absence from one of the heats or rounds will lead to being discounted out of the competition.

·8 finalists chosen form the entries would follow a two round heats for the winner to be chosen by the judges.

·Round 1: will be on dolls heads, where the finalists would be shown a particular styling demonstration, then be given a specific time to re-create the same.

·Round 2: will be on the entrants own live models, which they will have to supply and guarantee availability of attending the second round. This "Style Off” is where the 8 finalists will have 60 minutes to style their model’s hair and finished look from the chosen theme of the Style Off.

·The marks from both rounds will be collated and the winner is the highest overall score.

·Scoring will be on the following items, professionalism, adherence to the brief, effort and final finished look.

·The judges decision is final and there is no rite of appeal.

Details of the prize

·All 8 contestants will receive a full hair make-over, including Cut, Colour and Style, bespoke to them.

·A goodie bag at the end.

·Help from our recruitment team to organise interviews with potential salon employers.

Terms & Conditions for the contract for the winner

·Terms and Conditions for the winner, do not replace all nationally recognised rules of employment.

·Three month probationary period, which will be assessed and evaluated at the end of the three months to see if employer and winner wish to continue with employment.

·Termination or loss of winners prize will be effected if winner breeches employers standard Apprentice contractual terms and conditions.

·Winner will be employed under National Minimum Rates for pay and working hours, as laid out by the National Apprenticeship Service and The Government.

·The winner will receive three months employment at Salon 142 and a training place at Venture Learning, where they will be trained and expected to fulfil all duties in-line with the job role of Salon Apprentice Hairdresser. These duties include customer service, housekeeping duties, assisting qualified hairdressers with their duties etc.
