Blackpool Golf Course to remain open

The full 18 holes at Stanley park will remain in operation until at least March 2020

Blackpool Council will continue to run Stanley Park Golf Course for at least another 12 months.

The council, which owns the historic course, took over following the previous operator, 'Mack Trading' entering voluntary liquidation in October 2018.

Staff will continue the upkeep of the full 18-holes, after speculation the course could be reduced to just nine.

The move has been welcomed by Blackpool Park Golf Club, which is based at the course.

The council will continue to try and find a new private operator.
