Joey Barton makes a statement

"I emphatically deny the allegations made"

Barton Said:

"With regards to the alleged incident on Saturday following our game against Barnsley, I emphatically deny the allegations made. Given this matter has not been formally closed, it would be inappropriate for me to make any further comment."

This comes as Police release an unnamed man on bail following an alleged incident after Fleetwood's league One match with Barnsley.

The man attended at a police station and was arrested yesterday.

The South Yorkshire force says he's being held on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and a racially aggravated assault.

Barnsley have complained to both the FA and EFL after an alleged incident on Saturday.
