Lytham St. Annes Nursing home - 16 year old boy released

He was arrested on suspicion of rape and burglary.

A 16 year old who was arrested as part of an investigation into a sexual assault at a nursing home has been released under investigation in relation to the incident.

Police were called shortly before 5am on Sunday (August 4th) to reports an unknown male had been found in a room of New Thursby Nursing Home on Clifton Drive, Lytham St Annes with a resident.

Enquiries are very much ongoing but at this point we are investigating a sexual assault.

The victim and their family are being cared for by professionals and being supported by specialist officers.

A 16-year-old arrested on suspicion of rape and burglary has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A team of detectives remain committed to the investigation. Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101 quoting log number 350 of 4th August.
