Man dies after falling from roof in Blackpool town centre

A man has died after falling from the roof of Sainsbury's in Blackpool town centre this afternoon. 

Emergency crews were called to the rear of the store at lunchtime.

A man in his 20s was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with "serious injuries", but was pronounced dead on arrival.

He hasn't yet been formally identified.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: ''We were called at around 1.50pm today (May 7th) to reports that a man had come off the roof of Sainsbury’s car park in Blackpool.

''Emergency services attended and the man, in his 20s, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with significant injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead on arrival. Our thoughts are with the man's loved ones.

''There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances at this time. Enquires are ongoing.

''Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 and quote log number 0657 of today’s date.''
