Man in coma after Blackpool street altercation

Police want to speak to a man on connection with an incident in Blackpool yesterday (Saturday).

Have you seen Steven Higginson, 27? Police want to speak to him following a Blackpool street altercation left a man in a coma.

It happened at around 6:15pm when two small groups of men have become involved in a disagreement on Branstree Road. A car jack was thrown at one of the groups, striking a 21 year old man on the head. The offender ran inside a nearby house and then ran off.

The victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain. He is currently in a serious but stable condition.

Officers investigating need anyone who may have seen Higginson or knows of his whereabouts to speak to them at their earliest opportunity. He could also have been hurt during the incident and may need medical assistance.
