A mental health initiative in Blackpool designed to ease the pressure on NHS services has been given funding to operate for at least another year.
PSynergy is a vehicle that provides support for those in crisis and carries a senior mental health nurse, a paramedic and a Police Officer to jointly attend call outs to vulnerable members of the community.
They are then able to offer the support that allows people to remain in their own homes with the right care rather than an unnecessary transfer to A&E or being sectioned.
Following a successful six month trial Blackpool Police the mental health triage vehicle has now received support from partner agencies that will allow it to provide support for those in mental health crisis for at least another 12 months.
Psynergy is a great example of joint working between agencies in Blackpool and the Fylde Coast and is a real milestone in changing and improving the way we deal with vulnerable members of our community.
