Proposals have been unveiled which could see the redevelopment of two sites within Blackpool’s town centre conservation area.
Planning applications have been submitted to Blackpool Council to convert a former mini mall in Church Street into new shops and flats, and to demolish a disused storage building in nearby Alfred Street.
Both sets of plans have been lodged by Martin Roat of Hertfordshire-based property company Hastingwood Estates.
The mini mall scheme would see the ground floor converted into two glass-fronted shops with four two-bedroomed flats created on the first and second floors of the property.
It is proposed to dismantle the building on Alfred Street, which has already had its roof removed, because it is “no longer serviceable and to be able to redevelop the site”, according to the application.
Both schemes will now go before town hall planners at a future date for consideration.
