Nick Knowles overtakes Cheryl on the iTunes chart

The I’m A Celebrity contestant has overtaken Cheryl on the iTunes chart and soared to number one.

Last night viewers heard the DIY SOS host tell his camp mates how he got a record deal after jamming with Biffy Clyro on a Soho rooftop.

Host Declan Donnelly then encouraged viewers to tweet the hashtag "Biffy Clyro Not Embarrassed They Jammed With Nick Knowles" to get the band trending - and just minutes later it happened.

By this morning, Nick's cover of Make You Feel My Love from his album Every Kind of People in 2017 was top of the charts.

Meanwhile Cheryl Tweedy's comeback single Love Made Me Do It plunged to No48.

Industry insiders told The Sun Cheryl's first single in four years shifted just 5,000 copies despite a high-profile performance on Sunday’s X Factor.

She was slammed as "embarrassing" and "painful" by viewers who were left disappointed by the track.

That's despite throwing everything into her performance - including a sexy outfit, dance routine and even licking her hand.

Yesterday Cheryl lashed out at reports about the negative reaction to her telly performance, including claims she had spent hours analysing the recording since Sunday night.

She signed off: “I did watch my performance back and I loved it!”

The pop singer had previously claimed she would quit music if her comeback song failed to dent the top 80.
