You can now apply to be a ‘gintern’ AKA, get paid to drink gin

Attention, gin lovers: It’s time to quit your jobs and prepare for an incredible six months of drinking gin – and getting paid for it.

If you secure this internship with ILoveGin, that is.

ILove gin is a monthly Gin & Tonic club that aims to help people ‘discover their new favourite gins’.

And now they recently wanted someone to help them

They were looking for an ‘enthusiastic gin-loving intern’, aka, a ‘gintern’, who will be happy to spend their days visiting distilleries, sipping on gin cocktails, trying out new mixers and finding out about new gin brand – all of which means drinking a lot of gin, of course.

They have called it ‘the world’s best internship’ – and we are inclined to agree.

The successful gintern  travels around the UK and parts of Europe in search of new gins to work with and to sample.

And wait – it gets better.

The role is flexible, meaning you can work from home when you want to (excluding travel) – and there’ll be a tonne of events lined up for you as well as a box of gin treats delivered to you every month.

Now, for the basics.

You’ll need to be over 18 to apply, for obvious reasons. You must live in the UK and hold a driving licence.

Oh, and you must love gin. Obviously.

While the salary hasn’t been precisely defined, this six month internship is paid, and not just in G&Ts, with the terms and conditions saying it’s ‘up to £20,000’ if you ended up working full-time.

The position is part time and you will be working ‘around two days a week’ in the beginning.
